DAYTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS: Show Business Analytics Case Study
Dayton Public Schools Earns an A+ with Show Business Analytics, formerly Cuber Solution

Dayton Public Schools logo

"Our community looks to us to provide the best education possible for our 22,000 students. We’re committed to excellence. By using Cuber to monitor our performance we can focus on a specific target and make improvements based entirely on real results."

The Challenge
In a fast-paced educational organisation, how could managers and staff respond to all the internal and external requests for information that were flooding their In Boxes? How could education be improved? Without standardized results that could be shared throughout the system, managers and teachers were operating in the dark.

The Solution
A customized web-enabled, Intranet solution based on Show Business Analytics software running on Lotus Notes/Domino. The hardware platform is an AS/400.
The Show Business Analytics Notes/Domino solution provides a range of information including comparisons of test scores from year to year as well as from school to school. With drill down functionality, the system offers colored graphics output to highlight outstanding areas (green) and pinpoint other areas needing attention (red).

About Dayton Public Schools (DPS)

NOVARTIS GENERICS (now Sandoz): Cuber Case Study
Cognos® Powerplay® with Lotus Notes/Domino and Show Business Analytics, formerly Cuber

The Generics division within Novartis needs continual IMS market research data to inform different sections of the organisation with up-to-date information and analysis of the very competitive market for generic pharmaceutical products.

Since IMS data is host data and needs to be specifically processed before users can work with it, Novartis elected to enable users with a simple data query solution.

To make better use of the unstructured data, Novartis introduced Cognos Powerplay as the central OLAP solution in order to create more complex reports. However, to address the problem of data distribution, Novartis implemented Cuber, a secure and cost-effective solution that leveraged the existing communication infrastructure platform of Lotus Notes/Domino.
